Metrics Collected

Inflight collects and normalizes a wide range of metrics from your APM providers. The specific metrics available depend on your provider and application configuration.

Application Performance

  • Response time (p50, p95, p99)
  • Throughput (requests/sec)
  • Error rate
  • Apdex score

Resource Utilization

  • CPU usage
  • Memory consumption
  • Thread counts
  • Connection pools

Runtime Metrics

  • GC pause times (JVM)
  • Heap usage
  • Goroutine counts (Go)
  • Memory allocations

Infrastructure

  • Container metrics
  • Pod resource usage
  • Network I/O
  • Disk utilization

Data Synchronization

Once configured, Inflight continuously syncs metrics from your providers. The sync frequency depends on your plan:

  • Starter: Every 5 minutes
  • Professional: Every 1 minute
  • Enterprise: Real-time streaming

Security & Privacy

Your Data is Secure

  • API credentials are encrypted at rest and in transit
  • Only metric data is collected - no application code or sensitive business data
  • Read-only API access - Inflight cannot modify your APM configuration
  • Data retention policies configurable per your compliance requirements

Using Multiple Providers

Inflight supports connecting multiple APM providers simultaneously. This is useful when:

  • Different teams use different monitoring tools
  • You're migrating from one provider to another
  • Different environments use different providers
  • You want to compare metrics across providers

When multiple providers report on the same service, Inflight intelligently merges the data and highlights any discrepancies.
